Replacement outer shell designed for use with compatible Cocoon Aeris or Pedestal fireplaces. Intended to provide the external finish as specified by the manufacturer.
Cocoon Shell — Polished Steel
The Cocoon Shell in polished steel is the original expression of Federico Otero's design — a mirror-finish oval globe that reflects the room, the flame, and the light simultaneously. Where the matte black shell absorbs, the polished steel reflects — the fireplace becomes a living surface that shifts with its environment, the interior of the room visible in distorted, compressed form across the curve of the globe. It is the most dynamic option in the shell range, and the one that most clearly communicates the Cocoon's identity as both a design object and a fire.
A reflective surface that changes with the room
The polished stainless steel surface is a material that performs differently at different times of day — in daylight it reflects the room's architecture and natural light, and in the evening the bioethanol flame within becomes the dominant element, glowing through the opening and casting warmth across the reflective exterior. At 60 cm in diameter and 14 kg, the shell has the physical presence to hold its own in any interior — living rooms, open-plan spaces, commercial environments, and hospitality settings alike.
Use with pedestal base or Aeris ceiling system
The polished steel shell is compatible with all Cocoon Fires base and suspension configurations — the full range of pedestal bases and the Aeris ceiling mount. Particularly striking paired with the polished steel pedestal base for a unified metallic installation, or with the polished copper or brass base for a warm material contrast. The Cocoon 2.0 Burner is required and sold separately.
