Foco Free 1000
The Foco Free 1000 is the starting point for a custom-built bioethanol fireplace at 100 cm wide. Like all models in the Free range, it provides the working components — a base plate with a burner cut-out and a 4-litre Superior manual burner, plus safety glass — leaving the design of the surround entirely in your hands. At this width, the Foco Free 1000 is well suited to larger bespoke installations: statement island fires, wide media wall recesses, and architectural features where a standard off-the-shelf insert would not achieve the right scale. Optional automatic burner upgrades are available on request.
A 60 cm flame at the heart of your design
The 4-litre Superior burner produces up to 4.4 kW of heat output with a flame length of 60 cm and a burn time of up to 6.5 hours per fill, suitable for rooms up to 80 m³. The flame is adjustable throughout, and the burner requires only ambient room air — no flue, no chimney, no gas connection. The safety glass panels are included and can be positioned to suit the surround design.
100 cm of creative freedom
The 4-sided open base plate imposes no constraints on the design of the surround. Build up around it in concrete, steel, stone, or fire-rated board — the Foco Free 1000 is the functional core of whatever fireplace you design. The 40 cm depth provides sufficient interior volume for the burner to operate safely and draw on room air effectively. The base plate is constructed from 4 mm black powder-coated stainless steel, consistent with the build quality of the wider Foco range.
Installation guidance
No professional certification is required. The base plate is set within the custom-built surround, the burner is placed into the cut-out, and the glass panels are positioned around the flame opening. All materials used in direct contact with or immediately surrounding the base plate must be non-combustible. Combustible substrates must be lined with fire-rated insulation board before use. No electrical connection is required for the standard manual configuration.
Clean-burning, no chimney needed
Bioethanol produces no smoke, soot, or ash. The burner is lit with a long-reach lighter and extinguished by closing the cover plate. Fill only with the amount of fuel you plan to use in a single session.
