Foco Free 800
The Foco Free 800 is not a finished fireplace — it is the foundation for one. Designed for those who want to build their own custom bioethanol fireplace surround, it consists of a base plate with a burner cut-out and a 3.5-litre Superior manual burner, along with safety glass panels. Everything you need to create a working bioethanol fire is included; the surround, the wall, and the aesthetic are entirely yours to design. At 80 cm wide and 40 cm deep, it suits a wide range of bespoke and custom-built installations. Optional automatic burner upgrades are available on request.
A working bioethanol fire — your design around it
The 3.5-litre Superior burner produces up to 3.2 kW of heat output with a flame length of 45 cm and a burn time of up to 7.5 hours per fill, suited to rooms up to 70 m³. Flame height is adjustable throughout. The base plate sits at the heart of whatever structure you build around it — a concrete plinth, a timber-clad cabinet, a masonry surround — and the burner drops into the cut-out to create the fire. Safety glass is included and can be positioned around the flame opening to suit the design.
Total design freedom
The Foco Free's 4-sided open configuration means there are no fixed walls constraining the design of the surround. The base plate and burner work in any orientation that provides adequate airflow, making the Free range the starting point for truly bespoke fireplace projects — from island installations in the centre of a room to recessed features within custom joinery. The base plate is constructed from 4 mm powder-coated stainless steel in black, providing a robust, heat-resistant foundation that is built to the same specification as the rest of the Foco range.
Installation guidance
No professional certification is required. The base plate is positioned within the custom-built surround, the burner is placed into the cut-out, and the glass is positioned around the flame opening. Any materials used in the surround must be non-combustible — Skamotec fire boards, concrete board, steel, or stone are all appropriate. Timber and other combustible materials must be lined with fire-rated insulation before use. No electrical connection is required for the standard manual configuration.
Clean-burning, no chimney needed
Bioethanol burns without smoke, soot, or ash. The burner is lit with a long-reach lighter and extinguished by closing the cover plate. Fill only with the fuel you intend to use in a single session.
