The ScandiFlames Bioethanol Fireplace Insert is a compact, self-contained unit designed to sit inside an existing wood-burning stove or open fireplace, bringing real flames back to a dormant hearth in a matter of minutes. At 30.5 cm wide, it's a particularly neat fit for smaller stove openings and compact fireplace recesses.
Real flames, no chimney required
The 1.5-litre Premium burner produces a clean, adjustable flame with up to 2.2 kW of heat output and a burn time of up to 6 hours per fill. Bioethanol burns without smoke or harmful emissions, which means no chimney connection is needed — the flame draws on ambient room air. For rooms with a sealed flue, this insert is a straightforward solution that requires no remedial work to the existing structure.
A compact insert that sits cleanly in the opening
The insert's black steel construction gives it an understated, functional appearance that works well within the dark interior of a stove or fireplace recess. At 30.5 cm long and just over 10 cm in height, it is sized for stove and fireplace openings where a larger grate would not fit. There are no decorative logs included with this model — the insert is designed to be used as a clean, minimal flame source within the existing opening.
Ready to use straight from the box
No installation is required. Place the insert in the centre of the fireplace or stove interior, fill the burner with bioethanol, and light with a long-reach lighter. The flame is extinguished by sliding the metal cover plate over the burner opening. No power connection is needed, and no modifications to the existing structure are required. For best heat retention, closing the chimney or sealing the flue is recommended if the unit is used for warmth — though the stove door or opening must remain accessible for air supply.
Minimal maintenance, clean operation
Bioethanol produces no ash, soot, or smoke, so the stove interior stays clean and there is nothing to sweep out. Fill only with the amount of fuel you plan to burn — bioethanol evaporates from an open burner if left unfilled after use.
