Bioethanol Fire Grate L - 60 cm
For a traditional fireplace that no longer works — or simply one that's been left dormant — the Fire Grate L offers a straightforward way back to real flames. This freestanding bioethanol grate is designed to sit inside an existing hearth and deliver genuine warmth and atmosphere with no structural work, no flue connection, and no electricity.
Up to 7.5 hours of real flame
The 2.5-litre Superior burner produces up to 2.4 kW of heat output with a burn time of up to 7.5 hours per fill — enough to run comfortably through a long evening without interruption. The flame is adjustable, so heat output and burn duration can be balanced to suit the room and the occasion. With a minimum room requirement of 60 m³, the Grate L is well suited to living rooms and open-plan spaces.
A mid-size grate with broad appeal
At 60 cm wide, the Grate L sits confidently in a standard fireplace opening without overwhelming it. The black steel grate frame has the honest, unpretentious look of a traditional fire basket. A brown ceramic logset is included, arranged on the grate around the burner to give the appearance of a real wood fire — the warm tones of the ceramic logs complement the open flame particularly well against a dark hearth interior.
No installation — just place and light
Everything arrives ready to use. The grate is placed in the fireplace opening, the logset arranged, the burner filled, and the flame lit with a long-reach lighter. Extinguishing is done by sliding the metal cover plate over the burner opening. No chimney or flue is needed — if the existing one is blocked or sealed, the bioethanol flame draws on room air and burns without issue. No power connection is required.
Clean burning with minimal upkeep
Bioethanol burns without producing smoke, ash, or soot, so there is no mess to clear and the hearth stays clean. Fill the burner only with what you plan to use — any remaining fuel will evaporate from an open burner over time. The grate is freestanding and can be lifted out and stored when not in use.
